Solitaire: No Frills

The inception of "Solitaire: No Frills" was rooted in two objectives: firstly, the desire to craft a straightforward game that would serve as a foundation for my budding game development journey; secondly, a spark of inspiration from an ad-supported game I once played, leading me to wonder, "Why not try my hand at creating an engaging game with non-disruptive ads?"

Why Solitaire? The game has a rich legacy, and its mature, stable nature made it the perfect candidate for a developer in the early stages of exploration. I perceived it as a project with a "definitive end", allowing me to wrap it up and subsequently delve into more intricate gaming projects.

Challenges were abundant, especially in game architecture, due to my relatively nascent experience in the field. However, a blend of tutorials, perseverance, and timely interactions with ChatGPT proved invaluable.

In an era where advertisements can often disrupt gameplay, "Solitaire: No Frills" prides itself on providing an uninterrupted experience. The game lives up to its "No Frills" title by ensuring simplicity and authenticity, focusing solely on the core Solitaire gameplay, complemented by subtle banner ads and devoid of intrusive interstitial ads.

Feedback is the cornerstone of improvement. Regular interactions with a couple of dedicated players have shaped the game's trajectory, highlighting desirable features and pinpointing areas of enhancement. And as the journey continues, there are several exciting additions on the horizon, including Settings, Records, Haptics, Sounds and music, and enriched animations.

The entire process has been an enriching learning curve, deepening my understanding of mobile game development and the nuances of App Store deployment. While the journey was largely a solo endeavor, a shout-out to Midjourney for crafting the game's iconic app emblem.

As "Solitaire: No Frills" evolves, so does my vision, and I eagerly look forward to the path that lies ahead.
